How To Craft an Imperial Agent

The Empire. Where the Republic is weak and corrupt struggling in vain to keep itself from falling apart, The True Sith Empire rules through strength and order. Built on military might, the Empire maintains a tight grip on it's subjects, holding disruption at bay by any means possible. Some freedoms must be necessarily sacrificed for the greater good so that it's citizens can sleep safely at night. Something all Imperial Agents agree on.

"Imperial Intelligence operatives are clearly just as deadly as their sith superiors"
―Jedi Master Gnost-Dural

The Imperial Agents are the men and woman who keep the Empire ticking below the surface. It is their duty to flush out dangerous malcontent's no matter where they may lay. Seeking out possible Rebellion and those with sympathetic ties to the Republic are the name of the game for the loyal imperial Agent.

The Imperial Agent is wholly loyal to the Empire, though it is not always political idealism that makes them loyal but more often than not professional perfection which is often held in deep reverence. Naturally, the Agent’s allegiance to the Empire is without question, but great latitude exists for those so closely attuned to the Empire’s secret agendas, often harboring their own mysterious motivations as well. Having pierced countless layers of intrigue, these spies know of conspiracies within conspiracies. Even close contacts find it hard to predict what an Imperial Agent will do until it’s done.

Creating a Super-Spy

To create a compelling Agent character, you must consider several important factors, including his reason for unwavering loyalty to the Empire, his personal interpretation of the totalitarian Imperial Regime, and his rigorous training.

In Service of the Empire
Though each Agent is unique, they share things in common. The most obvious is their choice to serve a fascist imperial regime. Many serve in pursuit of control; their desire for order draws them to the strict authoritative structure. Many others serve because they see the other alternative -The Republic- to be slow to action better serving corrupt senators than it's citizens.

It is often the case that many see the Empire as a means to an end. By enlisting and serving they become part of something much larger, escaping the confines of planets within the outer rim and putting their natural talents to use showing unfaltering dedication to the Empire they gain rewards for good service and long conduct. Some are just born and bred Imperials descended from long lines of those who have proudly served the Emperor.

The moment they chose to serve the Empire is the crucial event that sets foundation in Agent character design. It helps determine who he is on a core level. When creating your back-story have a basic story of how your character first encountered the authoritative might of the Empire. What made her stand in awe and decide to serve the military machine becoming an important cog in its inner workings?

Training

Now that you have your origins and what drove you to serve the Empire figured out next is your training undertaken at the Imperial Intelligence headquarters on Dromund Kaas . Imperial Intelligence agents can be anyone, anywhere, but they are more likely to be Human Males with some sort of official background in the Empire, but no matter who they are once taken for training as an Imperial Agent they will find themselves put through stringent tests and exercise to make sure they were the best at what they do.

Those undergoing training as an Imperial Agent should make sure they are a master of acquiring knowledge and retaining it and it is expected of an Agent to have good idea of the political situation of the galaxy. How can you be expected to be a master spy, intelligence gatherer, and manipulator if you can't retain such knowledge?

Strong mental acuity is required of the Agent, they need to have patience, cunning and their wits about them at all time. Should they be predicting the distance of a well placed sniper shot or plotting an exit from an enemy installation, the agent needs to think fast should they avoid being revealed to their their enemies. Of course as an Imperial Agent they will be trained in the most basic elements of stealth and advanced long range weaponry but should they be uncovered they must be adept at at least some form of martial art.

Those who excel in their training will go on to become the most respected within the Sith Intelligence ranks. Those known as 'Ciphers' are the highest and most respected Agents within the Sith, the elite within Intelligence, it is they who are given the most deadly operations vital to the success of the Empire!

A Dual Identity

With your training complete you are now ready to take on the deadliest missions the Empire has to offer, but for you to truly be able to infiltrate galactic society you'll need a new identity. Some will decide to carry out a more civilian role within the Empire perhaps inserting themselves as the head of a galactic corporation making sure that things move in the direction the Sith want them to move.

Others will more likely integrate themselves into the Imperial Military, rising through the ranks as Officers waiting for the time they are to be called up given a mission. Either way the Agent is a master of disguises which has made it increasingly harder for the Republic to root out their influence. As an Agent you should attempt to create multiple-personalties so that should the time come you can slip easily into the galactic society.

Right tools for the Job

Sniper rifles for long distance assassinations, state of the art stealth armour, the latest in sophisticated surveillance technology. Imperial Intelligence spare no expense in making sure it's agents have what they require to get the job done. When choosign equipment think about the missions ahead, what will you need? Maybe your agent is all about stealthily invading enemy bases and will require a whole host of stealth field generators? Maybe you never intend to get up close and personal and instead rely on high powered long range blasters? Or maybe your the cocky sort and carry just a single deadly Vibro-knife.

What ever sort of agent you intend to play always make sure your have the best equipment, and it never hurts to have a few suicide pills just in case. As a servant of the Empire never let yourself be caught out unprepared. Not only could your life be at stake but the lives of Imperial Citezens as well.
